Your health is vital during this pandemic, not only for you but for your children. Practice good hygiene and self-isolate if possible.
- BE PATIENT
COVID-19 is not going to go away overnight, the government has already advised the changes could be in place for months.
- BE AWARE
There is a good chance your children will be aware of the pandemic; be conscious of what information they hear to ensure peace of mind.
Make sure you communicate with the other parent. Open communication is vital during a pandemic. Make sure you discuss protection and the health of the child/ren, as well as your community and your personal circumstances.
You will need to be prepared to adapt, you many need to improvise your original arrangements due to closures which could potentially affect handovers and your usual activities. Job losses could also affect the amount of child support you receive, being able to adapt is vital in surviving the pandemic.
- HELP WHEN YOU CAN
Everyone’s daily life will be affected due to the virus. Job losses can affect individual circumstances and potentially change schedules. Help when you can, check on your friends and family, and assist the other parent if needed.
